Page twelve records the time taken to drive the 262miles back from Blackbushe on 27th, 8 hours. The next two days were spent working on the car in preparation for the next meeting. There was alot of cleaning and drying out to do along with the usual maintenence and adjustments. Peter remembers that the plugs were still wet with fuel after the incident in the final race. The car was then taken to Southport on the 1st October by Jimmy Goddard, a local racing driver from Scorton, a north Yorkshire town near the cars base. October 2nds entry sees the team leaving for the Woodvale meeting at 6.00am. they arrived at 8.30. With the weather described as dry and cold a qualifier was run an hour later at 9.65/161. Norman Barclay was again doing the driving duties. Peter described this as "Good. But Allard better"! There was obviously a long wait before the next run as the car had to be warmed up again. A bye run in their class (15) resulted in a 9.72/163. The BDRA timing tickets for these two runs are pasted onto the page.
